Tutoring and Mentoring Program

March 1, 2005 we will kick off our After School sessions for the new semester. The purpose of the program is three fold.

1. Social aspect of it. Students will have a safe, supervised, and comfortable environment available to hang out with friends.

2. Business Opportunity: A snack & soda stand for students to run - to learn how to run a business. As an added bonus, the profits will be put into the program to pay for stipends/salaries. This acts as motivation for them to regularly attend.

3. Educational:  We will have tutors available for those struggling with their schoolwork. In addition, we will have mentors to help them plan a more promising future for themselves. There will also be qualified guest speakers available to discuss various careers and colleges.

If funding allows, we will hold dances, movie nights, and a variety of games. We hope to make it a positive and resourceful place for Glendale's youth to go to.
